Financial Aid
The availability of aid to master’s degree candidates varies widely, with many programs offering some partial- to full-tuition merit awards, a few offering need‐based aid, and some programs offering little or no institutional aid.

Our application is now entirely online, and all materials should be submitted through the online application. Please do not send any materials in hard copy. If for any reason it is not possible to submit materials online, please contact us by email at ahd-admissions@uchicago.edu.

Decisions
Learn when to expect your admissions decisions, how to respond, and which options are available should you defer.
The official admission decision is made available to individual applicants only through the online application, and applicants will be notified by email from the Office of the Dean of Students when their decisions are available.
Joint Degrees
Joint degree doctoral programs in the Arts & Humanities are an essential element of UChicago’s rich history of catalyzing new research that expands fields of knowledge by working across disciplinary boundaries.
Doctoral students in the Division can pursue joint degrees as incoming students or decide to pursue a joint degree after their first year, with different requirements for each scenario.

The total cost of attending is comprised of tuition, fees, and living expenses. Tuition, fees, and health insurance are billed every quarter a student is enrolled.
