Biography
Hilton Als is a staff writer at the New Yorker magazine. He won the Pulitzer Prize in Criticism in 2017. His books include "The Women," and "White Girls." His latest book, "I Don't Remember," will be published in March 2027. As a curator his work includes "Alice Neel: Uptown" (2017), "God Made My Face: A Collective Portrait of James Baldwin" (2019), both at David Zwirner Gallery, New York, and "Joan Didion: What She Means" at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles in 2023. He is a Teaching Professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
