A Conversation with Pulitzer Prize-Winning Writer Hilton Als
11 AM - 12 PM
The New Yorker critic on where we stand
Join us for a conversation with one of America’s most celebrated and influential cultural critics, Hilton Als, the Pulitzer Prize–winning author, curator, and longtime writer for The New Yorker.
For three decades, Hilton Als has been a guiding light for understanding art, performance, and the cultural moment in which we find ourselves, making vivid and lasting a full spectrum of meanings refracted through our histories of race, aesthetics, gender, sexuality, and identity.
Als will be joined in conversation by UChicago’s Rachel Cohen, an award-winning essayist and critic, to explore the work of artists and curators within a culture and in dialogue with its images, memories, and language, especially their role in mending the fabric that connects individual and collective meaning in real time, in difficult times.
